搶孤是一種閩南民系的廟會活動，在中元節普渡後，會將祭祀的供品提供民眾搶奪，稱為搶孤，台灣最負盛名的「搶孤」是東北角宜蘭頭城與西南隅屏東恆春的搶孤活動。是每年當地人期待的活動之一，活動前還會邀請表演人員進行娛樂活動
After the worship during the Zhongyuan Festival (a festival observed for the commemoration of the dead), a traditional ritual called Chiang-gu takes place. Various sacrifices are placed on top of a huge rack, called the Chiang-gu-pong. People are then encouraged to climb along the posts to reach the sacrifices. It is difficult to climb and dangerous, but the winner could be awarded NT 100 thousand dollars.
這是搶孤棚全貌，活動開始時會留四根柱子給孤魂野鬼，其他柱子分配給各隊人馬，並且在上面抹上牛油增加難度，下面還有網子等安全措施，一但成功據說有10萬元獎金，通常每年搶孤開始時都會下雨，更增加其難度，不是隨便人都可以爬上去的，在賽前都會經過一番訓練的，曾經有一部電影是拿此搶孤作為主題拍攝，好像叫痞子遇到愛，有興趣的人也可以看看電影了解台灣搶孤文化。 →立刻訂房 ‧ 為自己來一趟墾丁之旅吧~
